When Ad Placement Goes Wrong
Sometimes the ad rotation just doesn’t appear ironic – it can be almost cruel. I’m sure that Aviva couldn’t imagine its graphic appearing in an article like this when it bought the space from NBC Sports. Its ad is in rotation with several others – like the ING ad encouraging you to be “72 and Sunny.”
If you are curious and “reveal codes” and look at the underlying mess of ad codes and networks, its surprising that NBC has any clue what is going on with their site, the ad impressions, success measurements, etc. Glad I’m not on their web team. Or advertising on their site!
Then again, go to their site – avivausa.com. Based on where I landed I realized Aviva has bigger problems than poor ad placement (click on the thumbnail below):
Yah. Don’t they outsource to CSC? Ouch!
