Starbucks, Dreams, and Momentary Escapes
The Starbucks down the street from my office is my occasional escape. When the stress/disillusion/exhaustion meter hits red I head over for latte and a few moments of escape. I admit it – I like Starbucks. Lattes. Espresso. The rich smell of coffee. Since I gave up smoking years ago, I discovered the smell of a coffee shop in the afternoon could actually intoxicate me. So yes, I am so much of a coffee snob that my house garden gets bags of Starbucks grounds on occasion (and the basil and key lime tree both thrive on it).
I always pick up one of those free music cards for iTunes but rarely actually use it. Today was different – I downloaded the latest pick. Wow. Dream, by Priscilla Ahn. Not only excellent, but a quick check on YouTube revealed someone who can not only write amazing songs but understands the power of the kazoo.
Thanks Starbucks and Ms. Ahn. Enjoy. I need to attack someone with my Woot Monkey and get back to work.
